Boston Free Concerts Tip-Off

If you are into music and in the Boston area this spring, I would advise you to check out what your local music schools are doing in terms of performances. As the end of the semester approaches, some of the best musicians in the world will be performing in the form of finals, masters projects and the like, and it will probably be free. For starters, check out the lineup at New England Conservatory for new compositions and Berklee College of Music for all things jazz and lots of other cool music. NEC is unique because not only do their students perform, but their faculty also has to put on concerts every once in a while. For instance, last night John MalliaKatarina Miljkovic, and Julia Werntz had a joint recital of microtonal and electroacoustic music.

Cool stuff. Free Stuff. Good Stuff.

If you aren’t in Boston, don’t think this doesn’t mean you too. I have to imagine stuff like this is everywhere with good music schools.
