London Fortnightly Gig Guide Starting 17th May

In Gigs, London and the UK on May 16, 2010 at 2:23 pm

Unfortunately I’ll be missing Sleigh Bells and Theophilus London playing tonight at the Blue Flowers club night at the George IV. The good news is that they’re playing again in London this week on the 18th of May at the Macbeth in Hoxton, as part of the Concrete and Glass festival. After that they’re off on tour around the UK. Check out the dates here, because they are sure to be coming near you if you live anywhere near a reasonably sized city.

Alexis Krauss of Sleigh Bells rocks out. Join Her?

As for Theophilus London; I was first given a heads up about him from Rowan Spencer over at and the good news is that he will be playing at the White Heat club night at Madame JoJos on the 25th of May.

Apart from that, I’m looking to catch Yeasayer’s one-off at Koko on the 26th of May (tickets only via-ebay now I’m afraid) and The Antler’s at Scala on the 19th of May. So it looks to be a couple of weeks of relatively big and mainstream shows, but a great couple of weeks as well.

All of these bands are on UK and/or European tours right now, so check out their myspaces if you wanna catch them live.

Also note that it seems a lot of the American indie bands are heading over to Europe now to catch the festival scene, so look out for them.
