Jagwa Music freak the hell out on synths in a new-wave afro-pop I-don’t-fucking-know-this-is-awesome kinda of a way. Hand drumming, casio keyboards and absolutely no production qualities whatsoever, though god knows they’d use them if they had access to them. They sing the hell out for the night and you might aswell just jump in with them. They hail from from Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania. Incidentally Dar-es-Salaam roughly translates as ‘house of peace’. Jagwa music would like to make it clear that if you’re looking to dance, peace is bullshit.

Listen to the title track of their album ‘Liwalo na Liwe’ here

Listen to Sumu ya teja here.

I’ve also decided to upload the whole ‘Liwalo na Liwe’ album here. Cover below.
