Stream the new Destroyer album, ‘Kaputt’

In Canada, Choice Cuts on January 18, 2011 at 2:59 pm

Dan Bejar, the Vancouverite responsible for what has become some of my favorite music of late, has put together a new album entitled Kaputt. It’s great. You can stream the whole album HERE thanks to the Hype Machine.  Previously, we posted “Chinatown,” the album opener, and we loved it. Now that I’ve heard the whole thing, I love it all – even if he apparently recorded some of the vocals while “fixing himself a sandwich.” Actually — especially for that reason. If you haven’t seen it yet, the video for “Kaputt” is hilariously absurd (and awesome) so I put it below for all your viewing delight. Bejar and band are coming to Montreal on April 1st and are playing with one of my absolute favorite bands, The War On Drugs at Cabaret Mile End. Tickets are $17 in advance or $20 at the door. Be sure to listen to and pick up the new Destroyer album and when these two sweeet bands come around, go see em. Good things below:

DESTROYER – “KAPUTT” / directed by Dawn Garcia.

THE WAR ON DRUGS – “ARMS LIKE BOULDERS”

Enjoy.
